After looking around at a variety of different projects in the space, I decided to join the @HouseOfTitans_ with this awesome 1/1 Titan! I love supporting builders in our community, and I believe I've found another team building something great. #CardanoNFT
It is with much honor and privilege to be given an "Ambassador" tag to one of the best (if not the best) web3 game :)
Thanks @ParallelTCG, you'll always have my full support!
Shoutout to my guild, partners & friends as well!

It sounds "Cheesy", but you really gotta find your "Why"
Theres going to be so many days you will want to giveup & feel unmotivated
"Whys" that are bigger than yourself are always the most impactful
I minted the original @HouseOfTitans_ . We were promised this great project. But now, to get anything from the project I must spend 350 ADA? What was done with the first mint funds? Why werent miners bought with those funds? What's the point of the first collection? So much shilling and promises, turns out, only promise was they would want more ADA to bring any value. I remember a big long post about how they would bring utility to the project. They did, but for a new collection.
I'm sure I will catch hell for this post, but that's cool. It's my experience and perspective. I'm discontent, Sue me. Anyone look to buy a NFT? 🤣
It’s been ~4 months since the Outpost mint.
It’s time to reflect on how things have gone since the mint and give my thoughts on the new meta that seems to be forming around mining.
Let’s start with the most abrasive fact:
🔥 What we did can't be replicated
Miners were at absolute bear market lows when we purchased. This was mostly derp luck, but once we saw the opportunity and knew the window was closing, we moved as quickly as possible.
👉 Just ~6 months before we purchased, miners had been moderately more expensive
👉 Now ~3 months after our purchase, they are far more expensive, with S21s(these are the BTC miners) now about DOUBLE in price
I can't stress how lucky we were with timing. This is something Ryan from GGMC tells me every time we chat 😅
This doesn't mean that other projects shouldn't get into mining. I believe the opposite. If it aligns with your project and vision, it's a great way for projects to invest in long-term sustainability.
BUT projects should set expectations(for themselves and their community) accordingly.
We were extraordinarily fortunate and were able to get insane mining power for the funds we invested, but unless something dramatic changes in the market very soon, it's just not possible to get anywhere close to what we were able to get.
📊 The results for Derps
Frankly… things have gone pretty damn well for us so far. We just passed $100k in revenue in less than 3 months of mining, and we only have around 50% of our miners online.
This… unfortunately, is not the norm.
The deity derp truly blessed us with timing. Markets have rallied hard since our mint; as a point of reference, ADA was 0.24 on mint day.
As markets have rallied, the cost of miners has mooned. The S21 BTC miners are nearly double the price that we paid for them and the increase in demand has likely led to even longer shipping delays.
We are very excited to get the rest of our BTC miners online(we’re getting a few each month with the last ones arriving in June), and, as planned and promised, in about two weeks, we'll be reinvesting everything that has been earned so($100k+) far into new miners.
Between the rest of the BTC miners and the new batch that we're about to order, we'll be in a very strong position by the end of this summer.
I'll repeat this one last time: we have been fortunate, so please do not use our results as the basis for any decisions for your project– these results are simply no longer achievable.
Btw, you can see our mining performance at any time in the Gold Rush app: https://t.co/2jcMu195pW
⚔️ GGMC vs. Derps?
Mining offers creative teams so many options to introduce utility to their project.
When we had the idea for mining, there were several strict requirements that we held ourselves to before proceeding with the plan.
It had to be fun, safe, and legal. It had to align with what we thought our community would enjoy. It had to fit into the story of Derpetonia that we had been telling for 18 months. It had to involve the 4 character collections of Derpetonia. It had to balance rewarding existing holders and appealing to newcomers.
But equally important, it had to be unique.
GGMC was already doing great with mining. We loved what they were building, the artwork, the vision, and the team. We had no desire to just repeat what they were already doing, and we didn’t want to create unnecessary competition in the space.
We approached Ryan at GGMC in June and told him of our plan and told them we hoped to develop a partnership with them and that if we couldn’t find a solution to work together that wouldn’t pit us as competitors, we would likely abandon the mining plans.
It was then that he shared that they were about to reveal Kingdom Trust! And while the scope of what we were planning was quite a bit larger than what they planned to accommodate, both parties committed to working together to make it work… and it has!
Mining could be used in so many unique, fun, rewarding ways to create utility for projects. I think viewing everything as competition is likely to lead project founders down the wrong path, making them feel as if, to succeed, they need to do whatever everyone else did before them.
I believe you’re likely to have greater success by finding a new and unique angle if you do pursue mining.
🧑⚖️ Legal
This applies to all areas of NFTs, but if you’re getting into mining for your project, you absolutely should have lawyers involved.
We worked with our legal team based out of Panama and had to take several things into consideration before we could launch outposts. Specifically, there were requirements that Panama had for us that we learned from our securities lawyer.
In the year 2024, there really is no excuse for not having lawyers involved at every step of the way. Even the language that is used when talking about mining rewards needs to adhere to a strict set of guidelines that a securities lawyer can help shape.
🤩 More than mining
Plugging outposts into the derp ecosystem felt like finding the missing piece to a puzzle. We had:
👉 Community
👉 IP
👉 Story
👉 Fun
👉 Art
👉 Tech
👉 Talent
👉 Team
We were missing the conventional web3 utility many market participants look for, so mining was a great way to bring that to Derpetonia.
But mining is only one aspect of outposts… and while it’s probably the most prominent feature, it is not the most interesting IMO.
My favorite thing about Outposts is how it allowed us to utilize all 4 characters of Derpetonia in a convincing(from a story point of view) way while allowing both existing holders and newcomers alike to participate.
Fortifying is fun and social. Frequently, there are new people in Derp discord looking for help getting their outpost fortified! As a reminder, you do NOT need to have your outpost fortified to receive mining rewards!
We are a bit behind with outpost upgrades, but the new few structure upgrades are a lot of fun, and those looking to get the most out of the derp ecosystem will for sure be excited about these.
📚 Summary
Mining offers so much to NFT projects who are willing to do things the right way:
1. Find your unique angle for incorporating mining– we came up with many before landing where we did
2. Have reasonable expectations and set expectations properly for the community
3. Do not use derps as a base case; we were extremely lucky with the timing of the market, it’s just not possible to replicate what happened with us
4. Be safe, hire lawyers, and get second opinions (for collectors: ask founders if they are working with a lawyer)
5. It’s not a competition unless you go out of your way to make it one
---
Anyways, collect whatever makes you happy and is fun for you 🤝
And then buy a 12-pack of outposts
Love youuuuuuu
@UckieCrypto On the multiple level shrine upgrade, would you be able to know if it is due for a multiple upgrade since the progress bar stops at the max exp of the current level
