According to current research, most non-native adult speakers never reach this level and it would therefore be a false promise to many users. 1/2

It may be discouraging for language learners if this was their primary goal. Rather, it is important to focus on the comprehensibility of speech. This decreases communication barriers, while a subtle foreign accent can remain a positive identity marker. 2/2
