There are 90,000–100,000 percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) procedures performed in the UK every year. Most of these involve the placing one or more stents.

So there are many hundreds of thousands of people with stents in the UK.

The NHS recommends that people with a stent avoid folic acid supplements.

And yet the government has just made it mandatory that all non-wholemeal flour contains folic acid from December 2026.

White flour is in a huge range of everyday foods, not just bread. Pastry. Cereal. Cakes. Biscuits. Sauces. Breaded chicken and fish. Sausages. Stuffing. Marmite. Even some wholemeal and "gluten-free" bread.

How are people with heart stents going to avoid folic acid?

On a typical British diet involving a lot of baked goods, it won't be hard to consume just as much folic acid as you'd get from a supplement tablet. And it will happen unknowingly, since there is no labelling saying "Warning! Don't Eat This If You Have A Stent!". And no information about how much folic acid is in each product.

Does the government not care about people with stents? Or people with cancer? Or people with vitamin B12 deficiency?
I guess not.

Please sign Dr Clare Craig's petition and get folic acid out of flour and keep it in tablets, prescribed by doctors, only to people who need it, in controlled doses.

The math is simple now.

Reform can't win a general election, any idea of turning this around is cope - too many failures, too much insulting of the electorate, too much chaos. They were warned and didn't listen.

Conservatives are back in contention, but have lost too many on trust. Won't be able to win on their own.

Restore is in the race on % of vote and growing. Could be bigger than Reform in three years, a snap election would be different maths.

If the country wants to stop the lunatic left and continual decline of the country, a coalition is likely the only answer.

But a coalition has the problem of egos. Probably has hard as Fury and AJ arguing over who walks out second.

Then how does the right agree on sensible policies and things the country has the stomach for? How does it stop wasting its time on silly ideas like welfare cards, which are flawed and unserious.

The focus should be simple:
- Border control
- Productivity gains (literally everyone wins with this)
- Deregulation
- Slashing the welfare bill
- Build more prisons + return to punishing crime
- End of the two tier system

The above is all obvious to anyone with half a brain.

However, as usual with the left-side of politics, you are only allowed an opinion as long as it agrees with theirs. If you disagree, they call you every kind of 'ist' and 'phobe' they can think of.

I don't hate anyone and I am always happy to have a debate. However the hate seems to always flow in one direction.

From a right-wing perspective, we may just think the left are wrong. However, the left consider us to be evil and therein lies their justification to attack us, not just with words, but physically too.

That's the difference.

I'm Russian and I sow no hatred to the good people of Europe.

My fight is with the elites in Brussels and the regime in Kiev, not the average Ukrainian conscript. We do this not out of hatred but out of love for our people and our future security.

Then answer this in writing: how does charging a British man over an abandoned smuggling boat, and a phone PIN, serve the public interest faster than the crossings that boat was used for?

Industry were given two years to prepare for the December 2026 deadline. Millers chose not to wait and folic acid was added from September 2025.
They did not want to waste old packaging. Industry had already warned the government that some manufacturers held more than two years’ worth of packaging stock. UK Flour Millers’ own implementation document acknowledged what would result, “labelling misalignment is expected.”
