Today, Head of Teacher Development, Management, Career Guidance & Counseling Department at REB, @nmugenzi, officially concluded the validation workshop for the library management and reading activities training manuals prepared by REB in collaboration with Room to Read Rwanda.
The 2026 TVET Sub-Sector Working Group Retreat which was taking place in Nyagatate concluded following two days of dialogue, collaboration, and reflection.
Government institutions, industry leaders, development partners, and training providers came together to assess progress, examine labour market trends, and define priority actions for strengthening Rwanda’s skills development agenda.
The retreat provided a platform for meaningful exchange, addressing key sector challenges and exploring practical solutions, ranging from strengthening industry–academia linkages and expanding workplace learning, to promoting entrepreneurship and improving employment outcomes for TVET graduates.
Discussions concluded with a renewed commitment to advancing a responsive, inclusive, and market-driven TVET system that equips Rwandans with relevant skills for productive employment and drives socio-economic transformation. #NanjyeNdiTVET #TASWGRetreat

Officiating the meeting, Minister of Education @JoNsengimana emphasized that the TVET Sub-Sector Working Group meeting is a key opportunity for all stakeholders to reflect on collective progress in advancing Rwanda’s national TVET agenda.
He highlighted major milestones in reforms from establishing TVET Centres of Excellence and digitalizing programs to strengthening industry partnerships that link training with the world of work.
He called for renewed collaboration among government, the private sector, and development partners to build a responsive, inclusive, and future-ready TVET system that empowers youth and drives Rwanda’s competitiveness.
