@jessiegender It wouldn’t work with the electoral college though, having a 3rd party win a state would still take that state’s votes off a major party candidate (probably the one closest in values to the 3rd party). Yet another reason to get rid of the electoral college.

@elyobo @DrDreHistorian My American landlord assumed I had a cheque book. I did not. I think I wrote a cheque once when I was running for NSW parliament in 2011 and the system the Greens had at the time to reimburse personal expenses required cheques. I recall the people I paid with it being confused.

@DrDreHistorian Same. And getting friends bank details to split dinner bills and such. So when I arrived in America and set up a bank account in 2019 I spent far too long looking for the transfer option on my online banking portal, assuming I was an idiot for not being able to find it.
