@CAL_FIRE@PlacerCA@cal_office Nice fireproofing. But don’t forget to also integrate flood proofing with rain gardens and storm water infiltration / green infrastructure.

@abundanceinst@RainmakerCorp About 10 years ago, we looked at cloud seeding in western NV for an irrigation district. At best, results were mixed, and often overshot target watersheds. To say it works is perhaps an oversimplification.
@RobertHoglund No surprise. Yet similar studies (paywall blocked my review) tend to suffer from extrapolation errors and exaggerated benefit. Woody biomass is also essential for habitat and other functions, so mass burial as a strategy has issues. But managed forests can benefit adaptation
@paulgambill Inherently, regulatory mindsets focus on limits and protections. We need mgmt and governance that is focused on functional systems (science + economics).
@PeterMinor@WSJ The space has been high jacked by legalistic accountants designing systems for a mature market. They argue that more rigorous regulation will make the market. But that never happens. Markets must reach escape velocity first. Aggressive regulation kills early markets.
@PeterMinor@WSJ Not just possible. Essential. Simplest is to pool funding, build diverse project portfolios, and take an experimental approach w/integrity in MRV. Buyers tolerate failed projects as long as there is rigor. No tolerance for grift or lazy pipe dreams.
@DustinMulvaney A client lost funding to restore water supply infrastructure to a wildfire impacted community, presumably because it included the words “climate adaptation” in the project title.
@ConnieB_PFT@PacificForest I was bummed to miss Fete. Had another commitment out of town. The video was lovely. Congrats on a wonderful contribution to forestry.
