In the past few years, #Syria has repeatedly made its way to the feeds of “Travel influencers”.
The seemingly positive content is often met with a wave of criticism based on how this content negatively impacts the lives of Syrians both inside and outside Syria.

Since 2011, hundreds of thousands of Syrians have been detained or forcibly disappeared by the Assad regime. As of now, the number of released detainees is insignificant compared with the number of those still held in detention.
