Would you consider climate when picking an EV? At 0°C, ADAC’s IONIQ 5 84 kWh RWD motorway test reached 325 km, versus 570 km WLTP. Its 582 km route needed two 20-minute stops. At −10°C or below, leave more buffer. Check winter range and preconditioning.

After a year with my 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge, I’m far more positive about EVs than I expected.
The only real downside is the range drop below −5°C.
