He helped build the stadium before dying of prostate cancer this spring.
His legacy isn't just in the steel and concrete. It lives on in the people he loved and the stadium he was so proud to build.

Yesterday as I stood at my seat far after the game ended, I tried to soak it all in. I tried to remember and give a moment to every section and seat I’ve sat in throughout the place. The people I’ve gone with, the ones who have passed on, the ones I’m not so close with anymore, the ones I still go with. I thought of my childlike wonder when I first walked thru the stadium as a wide eyed 5 year old. The random strangers I’ve hugged and spent a game sitting next to becoming friends. The tailgates, the food, the parties, the got damn bus lot!!! (RIP) It may not of looked like much, especially to the world outside of our community but it didn’t need to look the part to be the one of the best game day experiences in the NFL. It was us, in every way. The new stadium has the bells and whistles, but it will also have 10,000 less of us. Screaming loyal fans replaced with more leg space and corporate suites. A lot of us being priced out after doing our part to ensure a new home for the team we love. So even though they’re just going across the street, in a way this felt like an ending. An ending of the way we knew Bills games, the way we felt a part of it, the way it felt like home, the way it felt like it was for us. I will miss this place and this era of my life so much. Go Bills. Forever, home 🏠

"I was pulled over Wednesday morning by a TN State Trooper. When he came up to the car he asked 'Why are the two boys in the back seat not in car seats?' My answer was the two little boys were my foster sons who I had just got the night before. I showed him paper work and explained to him that when I got them they had the clothes they were wearing and that is about it. No carseat, no toys, no coats, and so on. He was very nice to the kids and to me. He asked me for my phone number. I gave it to him. His wife called me and asked about the boys. This morning Officer Tidwell met me in Waverly, him and his wife had purchased gifts for the boys. Not just the two boys in the back seat but, their older brother too.

I cannot thank him enough for the kindness he has shown these three boys. I never asked him for anything. He and his wife acted out of the kindness of their hearts. He showed these boys that there are very nice cops out there and I hope he has left a lasting impression on them that cops are good. The boys have been telling everyone that 'cops are nice.' He has made their day. You hear way too much negative stuff now days so, here is some good news for you all."~Credit: HT Tennessee Highway Patrol
