Just experienced an adaptation of The Odyssey that I find absolute garbage. Completely “updating” the myth for “modern” times (you know what that means). A work that less pays tribute to Homer and tries to replace him. Tired of them attacking #theWest
@supergeekmike That whole film is about what happens when your superhero is a rich asshole.
Also crucially- Bane is not bad in the film because he is a socialist. He is bad because he kills and tortures people of Gotham.
@supergeekmike It basically shows how dangerous and unreliable and out of touch those billionaires can be. Bruce does not do anything for orphans when Blake informs him about the cut of funding - BUT boy, someone dares to take his pearls. That's what gets him back into some action.
@supergeekmike Also the way TDKR deals with capitalism is interesting. Consolidation of Wayne companies making it easy for Bane to takeover. Millionaires like Daggett giving Bane "money and infrustructure", Bruce forgetting of his civic duty and neglecting donating to orphanage etc
@Brosling4Life@300Kultura Oni lubią mówić że progresywne kino to taki rytuał upokorzenia (humiliation ritual), a ja widzę, że to właśnie ci anty-łołkowcy odprawiają ten rytuał u siebie, oni po prostu muszą natrzaskać 600 filmów na ten temat byle tylko nakarmić algorytm i ich żałosną publikę.
@Shannaro_Cold@chancewars_91@HisforHedonism@disparutoo You only proving my point. If you flip it and imagine Zeus as non-white you can easily justify Lupia's casting. As I showed you before, Homer does not provide any descriptor for her face, not even once.
@WolfBronsky I don't believe you had watched his films. Batman trilogy, Prestige, Tenet, Oppenheimer - all of those films are about bad right wing ideas brought to life, criticizing things like vigilantism or late stage capitalism or anti-communist moral panick of the right.
