This sack is well deserved, but I need to address some Liverpool fans.
Football is not a sport where you fluke things, especially at the highest levels.
I see people saying Slot won the league with Klopp’s team. Do you know Klopp himself could have remained and not won the league? Football isn’t entirely 1+1. Another manager could come and meet that Klopp’s team and underperform.
Let’s stop doing this, it’s not nice. You try to take away every credit from Slot because he had a bad season. Football fans have amnesia.
I watched numerous Salah interviews when they were winning under Slot. There was one with Gary Neville where Salah was mentioning the difference between Klopp and Slot.
He talked about the details Slot puts into the game, he talks specifically about how Slot knows when to make changes/substitutions, how he reads the game differently and knows what to do at the right time.
Salah, in another interview, further talked about how Slot would sit him down and tell him places to improve and that helped him a lot. Slot also told him not to track back, several things he said about Slot, because everything was so rosy.
If I search the tweets from many of you also, I would find many of such good things said about the manager. This season, it didn’t work out. In fact, my mutuals know I predicted Liverpool not to finish top 2, and it wasn’t because of Slot. I felt like when too many players join a club, it takes time for them to get their rhythm. I could have been wrong, but I was right this time.
Every club goes through hard times. Real Madrid won the UCL two years and have become useless despite signing arguably the best player in the world, and assembling The Avengers.
Slot had a bad season, the sack is deseved because he was disastrous, but don’t try to discredit him from all angles, that’s not sportsmanship and that’s not a fair thing to do. Winning the premier league on your first season isn’t something common, stop it guys.
Wish him well as he goes. Hope the new manager does well too.
Crazy because a lot of the fanbase accepted this would be the case throughout the season, and then a lot turned on the whole club.
Hearing the players finally speak out about what has been a season of suffering on and off the pitch should open the eyes of a few of you.
What they have been through isn’t normal, and now we finally see grief with the acceptance to talk about how hard it has been, we hopefully see a side that are going to be mentally stronger and in a position to fight again.
They’ll never forget Diogo Jota, we will never forget Diogo Jota however, the grieving will turn to strength and a desire.
The guy who says the coin’s gonna land on heads, it lands tails 4 flips in a row then he acts like some sort of oracle when it lands on heads on the 5th flip
That statement from Mo doesn’t even surprise me. Only Carragher has ever called him out for it and somehow he got abused for it. Someday, people will realise how Toxic that side of Mo was. Brilliant player but terrible personality when things don’t go his way.
Declan Rice has been very good for Arsenal but no better than Jordan Henderson was for Liverpool when they won the league but because Arsenal don't have a Salah or Mane people are running around throwing him into Ballon d'Or and POTY conversations.
I’ve seen way too many people on here (mainly rival fans, to be fair) downplaying how good Steven Gerrard was by comparing him to clearly subpar players who aren’t anywhere near his level. Have a little watch of this for a small glimpse into his genius. 🧙♂️
In the days and weeks after the Jota tragedy I (and plenty of others) said I'd basically forgive them anything in the coming season, and I have not done that. Probably worth reflecting on.
That’s since December 2019, now let’s do trophies since then.
Chelsea:
- Champions League x 1
- Club World Cup x 1
- Intercontinental Cup x 1
- Conference League x 1
Manchester United:
- FA Cup x 1
- League Cup x 1
Tottenham Hotspur:
- Europa League x 1
Arsenal:
- FA Cup x 1
Arsenal have the longest serving manager here, but are the least successful club since Arteta’s appointment.
Great flex. 👍🏼
"This is either ineptitude or sheer fucking arrogance. This period was always going to come, you don't get to act surprised."
"I don't think it's right that the people [at LFC] who are ultimately responsible for those decisions never speak about them in public."
🙈🙈 It’s almost like one of them won the Premier League title in his first season and the other oversaw United’s worst league finish for 35 years.
Brainless.
"It's not just when they're on the pitch, it's every single second of their waking day they are dealing with the loss of their mate."
"People are calling for Slot's head because 'last season he only won it with Klopp's side.' Well, Klopp didn't win it with Klopp's side the season before...we know he changed things cause we talked all season about what he'd changed...he is managing a team of people through unprecedented loss."

He debuted for Arsenal 17 years ago, went to Bolton, Bournemouth, West Ham, and Aarhus retired coached at Arsenal’s academy, became a first team coach at Norwich, and in 2025, was appointed permanent manager at Luton Town and Arsenal still haven’t won the Premier League or UCL since.
Congrats, Wilshere
If we’re talking about trophies it’s Michael Olise but if we’re talking about playmaking, dribbling, passing, chance creation, goals, assists, it’s still Olise
Just a reminder in the 87th minute, Slot sacrificed a CB in order to make room for 2x attacking substitutes.
Call it luck if it will help you cope but the teams inability to give up and back down is what has them 1st.
Nothing else.
