[Azerbaijan UN 🇦🇿 @AzmissionUN]

The Twelfth Meeting of the States Parties to the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of their Families was held on 24 June at United Nations Headquarters in New York.

During the meeting, 7 members of the Committee on Migrant Workers (CMW) were elected to replace those members whose terms are to expire on 31 December 2025.

Azerbaijan’s candidate Mr. Azad Taghi-zada received the largest number of votes and an absolute majority of those present and voting and was re-elected for a four-year term starting in 1 January 2026.

Additionally, the Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan Amb. Tofig Musayev was unanimously elected Chair of the Meeting of the States Parties to the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of their Families and presided over the elections.

Things which took place in Azerbaijan’s Garabagh Region over past 48 hours proved once again that no matter who or what is trying to suppress JUSTICE it finds it way to prevail.

Justice just prevailed for ~1 mln of Azerbaijanis who were displaced from the places where them and their ancestors lived over centuries, for thousands of Azerbaijanis killed over the years of aggression from people who they showed best traits of coexistence throughout history, for all historic Azerbaijani lands which suffered massive destruction, for Azerbaijani nation which was devastated by aggression and occupation which was ignored or mistreated by most of international community influenced by just a “lobby” group.

Justice always prevails for NOT those who have louder voices spitting out blunt lies but for those who have TRUTH behind them. Azerbaijan has truth behind it so all those who prefer to follow loud voices instead can now learn from this and hopefully change their approach.

And lack of education is not the excuse for making these mistakes.

Now it’s time to concentrate on long standing peace in the region and between people.

BREAKING: an 8th mass grave has been discovered in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh region, which was invaded & occupied by Armenia from 1992 until 2020.

Video 1: Journalist Orkhan Amashov reports on the finding of the mass grave in Shusha. Remains of 17 people have been discovered at the site of the Shusha prison, where Armenian forces kept Azerbaijani prisoners during the occupation.

Video 2: Zabil was taken prisoner as a child, shortly after the Armenian forces shot his grandmother in front of him in 1993. Three decades later, Zabil recounts the horrors of being tortured in the Shusha prison as a child.

None of the perpetrators have ever been held accountable.
