How to Improve Academic #Publishing: A letter to Editors from Early Career #Researchers. A compelling read and summary with actionable items from last year's @WileyGlobal @WileyBusiness #Editor Symposium in London that I attended https://t.co/9ZxGcUn3ot
3 weeks ago, I successfully defended my dissertation: https://t.co/UBUHQbEaHg Today, a new chapter has begun @ITONICS with a very warm welcoming & nicely decorated desk. It's now time to rock #innovation w/ what I've learned & taught in the last 4.5 y @unipotsdam. Ready to go!
The most common type of startup I see from MBAs are marketplaces, whether they are “Uber for X,” peer-to-peer, or actually helping sell stuff. This is a terrific free ebook written by a VC on how these businesses work & how to be successful launching one. https://t.co/1RFg4eUqsF
How to teach the complex issues around #businessmodels? Look into the new SI of the Jnl of Business Models: https://t.co/cKggnmejBq Great collection of different approaches incl #MOOCs, #entrepreneurship, #foresight, and many more! Thanks @annabholm, @bidmon_c & all contributors.
Very nice skeleton providing clear guidance for #students what is expected in the different paths of a #thesis. Check it out! After reading it I wondered whether you have page limits? How do they look like? Even at the same Faculty, page requirements largely vary @linusdahlander
When supervising master theses, I did a very short skeleton for how to structure the thesis. This can be improved a lot - and I invite you to edit the doc I did: https://t.co/d54ponENLG If it works, I'll promise to synthesize the ideas and make it publicly available.
Attending @WileyGlobal Editor Symposium in London today and tomorrow. Thanks for giving #youngresearchers a voice to discuss the future of #publishing. Thrilled to see what new formats, practices, profiles we will see for doing and communicating research.
@khoelzle @martin_kamprath You will get to know 103 different BM visualisations, five #visual_framing effects, and when BM visualisations are helpful and easily applicable. Pls feel free to comment on the article here. (2/2)

A good startup pitch literally changes minds. Research shows professional investors aren’t moved by the passion behind pitches, but amateur investors are another story. This study shows that passionate pitches increase the neural engagement of viewers leading them to invest more.
A number of smart thoughts for a more critical perspective on big data, machine learning, etc. Computers cannot detect causal relationships and foresee the future. People still needed, OMG https://t.co/UcG1QxZP2c
#Entrepreneurship in the Digital Age: Check out our latest publication (w/@khoelzle) and why most new firms should not purely play online via https://t.co/LGy9NxFbyY . With case studies, we explore the economic, functional, emotional, and status value added by physical stores.
I was informed that I am being awarded by @AOMConnect@MOCDivision for #AOM2019 as an outstanding reviewer. So grateful and honoured that others value my feedback. Everyone benefits; also reviewers, e.g., training own reflection, improving writing, & seeing fascinating research.
Many thanks to Sebastian Dreßen from @SiemensDE for explaining their approaches/instruments for managing #technologies. Excellent wrap up of issues that we have discussed throughout the semester in our co-lectured #TechMgmt course by @sors_s@TUBerlin and @khoelzle @unipotsdam
New study on entrpeneurial pitches shows that when founders use a combination of figurative language (“top down” strategies, “moving toward” growth) and accompanying gestures, it increased the vividness of the mental images of investors and therefore their propensity to invest.
Very nice, comprehensive collection of mental heuristics helpful for seeing problems/solutions from different angles. No heuristic should be seen as better, but definitely as helpful for increasing one's information base.
