I went from a blue-collar job where I was moving all day to a job where I sat inside all day.

The result? I gained 30–40 lbs and developed more aches and pains from sitting than I ever did from manual labor.

I’m not saying sitting at a desk is harder. It’s not.

I’m saying we underestimate how harmful a completely sedentary lifestyle is. Your body can handle hard work, it struggles with doing nothing.

@valvesoftware didnt need make money on the Steam Machine itself. Gabe’s out here with a $500M yacht that has a submarine garage (plus more yachts/research boats) and a fat $11B net worth.

Valve could have price the new Steam Machine at $699 as a straight loss leader. On just a million units they’d only eat like $50-150M total.

Again Gabe’s got the $11B + yacht-with-sub money — they can afford it easy.

And the average buyer would only need to drop like $500 lifetime on Steam games for Valve to make that whole hardware loss back (thanks to the 30% cut).
They did the aggressive pricing thing with the Deck.

But they’re still choosing $1,049 instead. Not that they can’t do the loss leader play… they just don’t wanna. 🤷‍♂️

This is greed people. Valve has lost it's way.

I'm throwing real world math at those of you with reasonable minds to help you all understand how much of a bullshit price this is.

WATCH: Police dashcam footage shows a Montgomery County Police sergeant’s cruiser being destroyed during a street takeover on East-West Highway at Connecticut Ave in Chevy Chase, Maryland 🚨

In total, two cruisers were damaged during the attack, with one having the entire rear windshield busted out. Amazingly, no officers were injured. No arrests have been made for the incident as of now.

Maryland State Police assisted in clearing out the takeover, at which point it is believed the group continued into Fairfax County, Virginia to do another street takeover on Georgetown Pike at Dolley Madison Boulevard. (see our earlier report)
