The box-office sensation surrounding ‘Salmokji’ extends far beyond the cinema screens. Visitors are flocking to the Salmokji Reservoir in Gwangsimyeon, Yesan County, South Chungcheong Province.

A post titled ‘The Current Situation at Salmokji at 3am’ appeared on the online community MLB Park, accompanied by a photo of the reservoir. The caption read: “About a dozen cars, around thirty people. Even though it was 3 am, there were loads of people," along with photos taken at the site. The photos show several cars lined up along a narrow mountain road in the dark, and visitors gathered in small groups on the deck near the reservoir, shining torches.
