Palmer Luckey says Anduril doesn’t need 100,000 employees to compete with defense giants: “We’re using technology so each worker can have the strength of 100 men.” 🇺🇸
“Money is a proxy for productivity. Is it possible to have 10 times as many people and still be slower than the first company?
The big defense companies have tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands of people if you count contractors. But I don’t need that many people to do what I do. A lot of our manufacturing is automated.
We have thousands of people manufacturing. We’re augmenting them with technology so each of them can work with the strength of 100 men—or build wiring harnesses with the strength of 1,000 men.
I don’t measure my company’s progress by the number of people. I measure it by our output. Are we successfully making AI fighter jets, robotic submarines, rockets, munitions, and missiles?
If we’re making those things, I’m OK with the company not growing in headcount—as long as our people are becoming more productive.”
US manufacturing added 72,000 jobs in 2026 so far (after losing 200k+ in Biden’s final years). Factory construction is surging and durable goods production is up as companies reshore.

Palmer Luckey slams Silicon Valley for spending years trying to win China’s favor while refusing to work with the U.S. military: “A total abdication of responsibility.” 🇺🇸🇨🇳
“Let’s travel back 10 years to 2015. Google was trying to get into China. Facebook was trying to get into China. Microsoft was trying to get into China.
China had convinced these companies, including Apple, that it was going to surpass the United States as the world’s dominant economic superpower. They thought they could make trillions of dollars by working with China the way China wanted.
Google even had Project Dragonfly, a censored search engine for China that, according to the plan, could collect information on dissidents and report it to Chinese authorities.
For about a decade, you had a total abdication of responsibility by our tech companies to do anything for the United States. They were refusing to work with our military. Google famously pulled out of Project Maven after employee protests.
They were willing to accommodate China while refusing to help their own military.”
