Mission alone can't carry people forever.
If we expect nonprofit teams to keep showing up with compassion, we have to take their well-being as seriously as the work they're doing.
Supporting the people who serve others is part of protecting the mission.

One question has helped me through my most difficult times:
"What is this experience teaching me that I couldn't have learned any other way?"
That perspective doesn't make adversity easier, but it can help us grow while we're weathering the storm.

Every leader needs people who think differently from them.
My Vision Circle is made up of strategic thinkers who ask difficult questions, challenge assumptions, and help me see possibilities I might miss on my own.

Participation isn't the same thing as progress.
We're making changes to our wellness challenge because participation alone doesn't create results. Growth requires consistency and accountability.
You can't skip the effort and still expect the outcome.

People want your glory. They don't want your story.
They see the confidence, leadership, and impact. They don't always see the setbacks, sacrifice, and growing pains that came first.
You can't skip the hard parts and still expect the growth.

#SickleCell Warriors are building careers, relationships, families, and futures just like everyone else.
Care can't focus only on the next crisis. It should support the life someone is trying to build.
#HealthEquity means looking at the whole person. 💜
Today we honor resilience in all its forms. ❤️🖤💚
On #WorldSickleCellDay, we stand with Warriors fighting for better care, awareness, and hope. On #Juneteenth, we celebrate freedom, strength, and progress.
Awareness. Freedom. Equity. Hope.

#Wellness can't be something leaders earn after hours. I made it part of how we operate at the Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia because Warriors deserve steady, supported teams on the other side of their care. 💜 #Burnout https://t.co/FxiOQwMYHY
The people most devoted to a cause are often the ones least likely to protect themselves from it. Warriors need advocates who are still here, still present, still able to fight for them. That has to be part of how we do this work. 💜 https://t.co/dAurx2Gi3B
Clarity of purpose changes how a team operates. When my team understands what's at stake for the Warrior on the other side of their work, they don't need to be managed through every decision. They already know why it matters. 💜
I joke that I’m “married” to my Oura ring, but I check it every morning for a reason.
If you can track something, you can monitor it. In healthcare as well as leadership, monitoring gives you a better chance of catching small problems before they grow.

Medical schools are facing pressure to scale back training on the barriers patients face outside the exam room.
Those barriers affect communication and access to care.
#SickleCell Warriors shouldn't have to teach the #healthcare system how to care for them during a crisis.
Memorial Day has meant something different ever since I wore the uniform. I am very grateful today and every day for the sacrifices made by so many. ❤️ Let's all take a moment to remember and honor their bravery. #memorialday#veteran#gratitude#remember#honor
My military service taught me that responsibility is never just individual.
Preparation and accountability affect everyone around you. One person losing focus can have very serious consequences.
Today I’m thinking about the people who never made it home and their families.
