It has always kinda bothered me that outside of retro anime fan spaces, if anyone knows who Lum is it’s because she’s “that future funk girl.” Literally if you google “future funk” the first image is of her.
HER NAME IS LUM SHES FROM URUSEI YATSURA AND SHE LOVES HER DARLING 😾
hate how people resort some female characters to just their aesthetics and treat them more like a mascot for an internet subculture rather than someone with a personality
@Burgundy740 I didn’t say discovering Lum through future funk was wrong! What I was trying to say is that I wish she was appreciated more for who her character actually is outside of aesthetics. I guess I just worded it poorly. I wasn’t trying to make any fans feel invalidated :(

@letsgotomato11 and that’s ok too! I think he kinda lost expressiveness/charm personally, but if you like this design for him I’m honestly envious. I wish I did! 😔
Ataru has one of my favorite character designs because of how simple it is while also being effectively cute, charming, and mischievous. It’s so sad all of that is lost in how Rumiko draws him now 🥲 it breaks my heart a little…
@MossMutant I noticed the Labyrinth soundtrack album upload of As The World Falls Down by David Bowie was missing too but idk if it’s always been like that or if that’s a SESAC thing…
The conversation about A.I. begins and ends with the Spongebob episode where King Neptune mass produces hundreds of disgusting Krabby Patties through magic and Spongebob handmakes one delicious Krabby Patty with love
