“Prayer is speech at its most alive. The breath that is breathed into us by God is breathed back by us to God. When we pray we are using language closest to the source of language.”
(Eugene Peterson, “Land of the Living”)
We were in bondage to sin, but Christ graciously came to set us free from sin's penalty. He promises that we are being freed from sin's power and will one day be free even from sin's presence. #praytheword https://t.co/byaF0wL4QO
Drain Amazon dry of every book on living your best life, read them till you’re blue in the face, highlight them brightest yellow & not one can compete with 8 simple words from the mouth of Christ.
“It is better to give than to receive.”
That is the secret to a fulfilling life.
We get so fixated on the one thing we desperately want God to do that we miss 100 things He is presently doing. Our awakenness to the other things will either buoy us up in our faith for the one thing or remind us of His goodness if, for whatever sovereign reason, it is withheld.
"Christ-centered, grace-motivated gratitude fits everywhere, even in life’s most desperate moments and difficult situations.
Even when there are no 'answers,' it gives hope.
It transforms overwhelmed strugglers into triumphant conquerors."

After 10 yrs of research, LifeWay states 2 things about maturity:
1. Bible engagement is the #1 spiritual discipline for growth.
2. Bible engagement affects every other discipline. People who engage the Bible give more, go more, & evangelize more.

Surprise, Coach!
On Wednesday, Coach Swinney thought he was surprising the team with an appearance from @deshaunwatson. Instead, it was Deshaun who surprised him with his selection as the honorary coach on the 2019 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team!

“Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more.” —Revelation 21:3–4
Most of us would feel so much better if we simply got over seeing ourselves as the center of the universe. There’s bigger stuff going on out there than us.
This is an unbelievable testimony. This man is living out the gospel of Jesus Christ which goes against everything in our human nature. This could only happen by the power of the Holy Spirit and because he absolutely believes he will see his brother again. Powerful!
