Anthony Jenkins held the rank of Staff Sergeant, serving as a Light Weapons Infantryman with B Company. He was killed in action September 1969, while operating in Thua Thien Province, South Vietnam, by an explosive device during hostile contact. His loss was deeply felt among his brothers-in-arms of the “Currahee” Battalion.

For his exemplary gallantry in action, Staff Sergeant Jenkins was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with “V” device for Valor, one of the nation’s highest recognitions for battlefield courage. He was also awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Merit, honoring his sustained meritorious service throughout his time in Vietnam.

Through valor, leadership, and selfless devotion to duty, Staff Sergeant Jenkins embodied the proud legacy of the 101st Airborne Division—“Rendezvous with Destiny.” His name and sacrifice endure as a testament to the men who carried the Screaming Eagle into battle and never returned home.
