f2pool detected the issue in real time and responded immediately, continuing to mine on the valid chain under the correct consensus rules.

After a tense 13-block chase, the valid chain caught up. From block 3,095,931 onward, f2pool mined the key blocks that helped the valid chain overtake the invalid fork, leading to a natural reorg back to the correct chain.

While seasoned Litecoin haters have come out of their "Litecoin is dead" hybernation to spew FUD and misinformation, it's important we set the records straight.

- Litecoin mainnet remains totally unaffected. ✅️
- Litecoin experienced ZERO downtime still. ✅️
- It was NOT a zero-day attack, as there was already a patch before the exploit. ✅️
- The reorg was the natural fix, not the exploit. ✅️
- There were NO double spends on the Litecoin ledger. ✅️
- The MWEB consensus bug affected outdated mining nodes, causing the exploit to affect cross-chain bridges like Near intents (unfortunately).
- 99% of nodes have implemented the patch already, and the bug on the side of MWEB has been swiftly fixed. ✅️

In this age of hyper-misinformation, it is important we share the facts and ignore deliberate attempts at opportunistically smearing Litecoin's image.

Our hearts go out to Near intents' protocol for having to incur the damage from the bug, and key Litecoin developers are in contact with the Near protocol team to help fix the issue.
