According to the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association, the technology gap between South Korea and China in memory chips has narrowed to 3 years in HBM, 2 years in DRAM and 1 year in NAND flash.

A gap once estimated at more than five years has narrowed to one technology generation or less in memory chips.
