Perfect Crown will not be removed from any platform and honestly, it should have been impossible for something like this to happen in the first place. In the end, the petition had no legal basis that could force OTT platforms to remove the drama.
Honestly, I canโt feel completely happy about this. Not because of the outcome, but because we should never have had to reach this point if MBC and the parties who had more reason and authority to speak up had defended the drama and stood up to those who kept trying to tear others down, instead of choosing silence and waiting for everything to pass until so many people were affected.
At least today, there is some certainty that they cannot simply remove a work because of pressure like this.

The official National Assembly report on the Perfect Crown petition is out. The bottom line? The drama will NOT be removed or banned from streaming platforms like Disney+. Under current Korean law, the gov has no legal authority to force OTT content deletions.
"2. Mandatory Deletion from VOD / OTT Platforms (Pages 8โ9)
Feasibility: Not possible under current law.
Legal Bottleneck: Under Article 22-5 of the Telecommunications Business Act, OTT platforms (value-added telecommunications operators) are only legally obligated to delete or block illegal explicit recordings and child exploitation material.
Conclusion: The government currently lacks legal authority to force streaming platforms like Disney+ or Wavve to pull fictional content. Doing so would require passing new overarching legislation, such as the proposed Audiovisual Media Services Act (Bill No. 2219343 sponsored by Rep. Choi Min-hee)."
