We would like to kindly raise a concern regarding fan-created content for You Maniac across platforms such as TikTok and YouTube (and many other’s if it’s the case)

There are currently many fan accounts actively promoting the series through edits, clips, compilations, and other content. These accounts have played an important role in introducing You Maniac to wider audiences, especially international viewers. Recently, however, several of these accounts have been receiving reports, copyright claims, or having their content removed because their edits include footage from oneD. We completely understand the importance of protecting copyrighted material and the rights of the platform. At the same time, we kindly ask whether there could be a way to distinguish between unauthorized redistribution of full content and fan-made edits that are primarily created for promotional purposes.

The audience on X is not necessarily the same audience reached through TikTok or YouTube. Each platform has its own algorithm, communities, and way of discovering content. TikTok in particular can expose a series to people completely outside the existing fandom through edits appearing on their for you page, while YouTube edits, Shorts, and compilations can continue reaching new viewers long after an episode airs.

the videos are getting banned because of their reach, I am an editor myself and I have seen the videos with the you maniac content being the only ones who doesn’t get the common engagement. So… or the video becomes invisible or the video gets the engagement needed but is getting copyright violation warnings. Either way the only one affected is the series and the fans accounts who are scared to even post because we see the LEGAL word.

Many fans dedicate their own time to editing, recommending, and sharing moments from the series precisely because they want more people to discover it and eventually watch the full episodes through the official platform.

We are not asking for copyrighted content to be freely redistributed, nor are we asking for full episodes or substantial portions of the series to be uploaded elsewhere. We simply hope there can be some consideration for the fan edits and promotional content. We are talking about accounts who have been since day 1 with williamest, we can’t risk to lose them but we can’t just stop promoting the series.

We sincerely hope this concern can be considered and that a solution can be provided so fans can continue supporting and promoting You Maniac across TikTok, YouTube, and other platforms.
