Sure, this is valid from a trader's point of view. But for many or most it wasn't about gambling, farming, flipping or bragging; it was about collecting... and it was about investing in artists, teams and communities. It was about believing in something.
Sadly, it's true most of these projects didn't know how to execute despite all the money they raised. That's because 99% of them didn't know shit about running a business. This is unfortunate, and a fair complaint IMO.
But that's not the whole story. The truth is it was the mfers who are bragging they sold at the top, flipped for profits, dumped at TGE, etc. who fucked these projects... and the entire NFT space. The project founders weren't smart enough to create safeguards to protect "holders", and those who did actually ambushed their FDVs and punished their OGs.
Truth is the greed you mention doesn't really sit with the losers; it sits with the degens.
