Have you used SwiftUI successfully to build a Mac app, or have you run into similar limitations? I'd love to hear your experiences!
I go into further detail about AppKit VS SwiftUI on my blog here: https://t.co/bAzmgD8hmb
My recommendation for making a Mac app in SwiftUI? Reach for AppKit.
**You can't make a good native Mac app with SwiftUI**.
Even though SwiftUI has been out for more than 4 years, apps built with it feel like an afterthought.
Even Apple agrees. Which should you use? ๐งต
Going forward, I will continue to develop Mac apps in AppKit first, and only reach for SwiftUI when I know its limitations won't get in the way.
I love SwiftUI for prototyping and throwaway projects, but for the apps that I want to leave an impression, I'll stick with AppKit.
Whoops!
