@foferxxx@MetaBoy@jbarro MantelMount looks great, but we often use the fireplace at the same time as the TV. If we were to pull the TV down we'd cook it. Has to stay where it is, shielded by the mantel.
@MetaBoy@jbarro Wow, fancy!! Very cool. That might have worked had we gone with a 55" as originally planned but we upsized once I was greenlit! Honestly though in our case the TV enjoys enough usage that we'd probably always have it open anyway.
@yourpalhalsays@jbarro No, we disable the TV speaker and use that low-profile Polk directly underneath (not my first choice but again - constraints and it suffices for our space). I should try it out someday just to see how it sounds.
@yourpalhalsays@jbarro The mantel was made by Anthony Shields & Sons. The Sony TV can vibrate the whole LCD panel as a center speaker (supposedly pretty good) but we use a traditional 9.1 home theater setup with dedicated center channel and Yamaha AVR. Sound just as important as video, IMO!
@yourpalhalsays@jbarro Thanks. We tried *really* hard to make it work another way but too many constraints in the space ultimately. But we got the lowest profile fireplace and built a heat shield mantel. With our reclining sofa there's no neck strain. It's actually quite nice.
@jlrizzoii@mattyglesias True, it's more that I've been to a bunch of B and haven't seen much of A yet - arrowhead, Apostle Islands, Iron mtns etc. - so it holds more allure!
@TrueFactsStated@rodstewart Oh no, not again
So short of breath, I can barely stand
Asphyxiation

(seriously though, dude should take a break and care for himself)
@Martina Let's be clear though; they're upset that they lost their access to political power, not that they were duped by a libertine degenerate's fake piety (assuming they ever really believed it).
@mattyglesias "Trump has turned out to be exactly who he obviously was all along and my world is rocked" is some tremendous content, though. Many such cases.
@J_Schneider Interesting article yesterday on opinion among MSG brass that Sphere in Vegas taking up JD's attention ("distracting him from Knicks") is what allowed the team to flourish.
