Muslims are asking AI chatbots like ChatGPT questions about Islam.

And here’s the problem: ChatGPT wasn’t built around Islamic sources

It can give you a confident-sounding islamic answer while being completely wrong and you have no way to check where it gets the answers from

Also AI is not neutral. The people who build these systems shape what they learn from, what they prioritize, and how they answer questions about truth, morality, and religion.

And it is not enough to tell Muslims, “Don’t ask AI about Islam,” without giving them an alternative. Muslims are already using these tools. We need better options.

In this video, I take a look at Qaf, an Islamic AI research tool that searches through thousands of Islamic books and references before answering. It shows you where its response came from, including the book and page, so you can check the source yourself. I also walk you through different use cases for this

Is Qaf perfect? No. It can still make mistakes, and that matters when we are dealing with religious questions. It should be used for research, not as a replacement for a qualified scholar.

But I don’t think the answer is to shun tools like this altogether. Muslims are already using AI.

We should engage with it critically, verify its sources, point out where it fails, and help build better tools that are more accurate, transparent, and grounded in our tradition.

Shocking footage shows the moment a woman in a hijab in her 20s was ploughed into by a car in Abbey Wood, south London, on Sunday.

The Israeli military is recording and storing Palestinian phone calls and messages on Microsoft’s Azure cloud, mostly in European data centers. This data is used by AI systems to choose who to kill, arrest, or blackmail.
