For me, the biggest change in rugby since the new scrum laws coming July 1st is a focus from a strong INSIDE foot to a strong OUTSIDE foot.

Looking forward to running a scrum clinic for our Junior State candidates and their coaches along with the referees on Wednesday. Really keen for the discussion and to share some ideas on an important part of the game that's severely under-coached in a lot of Australia.
Question / discussion for coaches:
It's half-time. Scoreline against you and the performance is below expectations. You have 5-10 minutes before the game restarts. How do you use it? What happens next?
Huge congrats to @witchy900 and his @HampshireRFU women's team. Big day out at Twickenham beckons. He has done some amazing things for the women's game in the South Coast, super chuffed for him.
@SamLStandsUp Thanks Sam. Always enjoy these threads. Often the areas we look at as coaches comes down to 3 key points to review. You've nailed them here. If we can Isolate, upskill and get repeat efforts on these points and incorporate in games, we will see the fruits of that in due course.
It's really interesting seeing the reaction to England.
There is a genuinely erroneous belief in much of the press that England should be world-class overnight by sheer weight of numbers and/or changing coach.

Summary - we have been here before. Players need time to understand what is expected & how each other work. Coaches need the same time. Players will learn the demands of Test Rugby & be better for it. Takes time to be cohesive and time is what Eddie and New England need.
Thread: Personal thoughts RE Eddie Jones and why RFU need to stick with him:
You don't have to look too far in history to point out that a change of Head Coach 18 months before a World Cup can work. @RassieRugby was appointed 18 months before SA won it in 2019.
It's taken France and Ireland 3 years with the current crop of coaches and players to get to where they are now. England overhauled their coaching team last year and have drastically changed the makeup of their team.
