प्रतापगढ़ की रानीगंज सीट से विधायक @DrRKVermamla2 आबान अहमद की सड़क दुर्घटना में हुई मौत के बाद शोकाकुल परिवार के बीच पहुंचे थे। इसके बाद उनसे रिपोर्टर ने सवाल किया कि क्यों आए, जिस पर उन्होंने बेबाक़ी से जवाब दिया है। डॉ. वर्मा जिस विधानसभा क्षेत्र से विधायक हैं, उसी क्षेत्र में उस ‘शाइर’ का भी घर है, जिसने भरे मंच से आबान के पिता को ‘बाप की हैसियत’ दी थी। बताइए! आरके वर्मा जिन्हें चंद महीने बाद ही चुनाव में जाना है, उनके लिए कोई ‘मसेलहत’ नहीं थी। कुछ लोग एक ‘शाइर’ की कायरता और अति महत्त्वाकांक्षा को ‘मसलेहत’ का नाम दे रहे हैं।

आरके वर्मा ने इसी बात-चीत में ‘शाइर’ की चुप्पी पर भी सवाल उठाया है। आरके वर्मा ने कहा “इमरान प्रतापगढ़ी अतीक को मसीहा मानते रहे हैं. ऐसे में अतीक के बेटे की मौत के बाद उन्हें कम से कम दो शब्द शोक संवेदना के लिए जरूर कहने चाहिए थे।” सवाल फिर वही घूम कर आ जाता है कि एक शाइर जो सार्वजनिक मंच से कई बार डी.एम. मिश्र की ग़ज़ल का मिसरा पढ़ चुका हो कि, “हम रहे गर चुप तो फिर बोलेगा कौन।” वह शाइर अब ऐसे चुप है, जैसे बोलना ही ना जानता हो।
