A monthly salary of 50 million CFA francs, a signing bonus of 360 million CFA francs, an additional qualification bonus of 150 million CFA francs, a salary increase raising his earnings to 62.5 million CFA francs should the Lions reach the World Cup quarter-finals, and an annual image rights bonus of 50 million CFA francs.

These were the demands put forward by Pape Thiaw during the initial phase of negotiations.

Once the squad had gathered in the United States, Pape Thiaw pressed the issue again.

However, he also demanded a bonus from the Federation equivalent to 1% of the prize money in the event of a victory by the Lions, as well as a special bonus of 180 million CFA francs—amounting to 5 million CFA francs per month over three years.
