The riots we’ve seen over the last 48 hrs are not just spontaneous acts. They’re the consequence of anti-immigrant rhetoric from government, Islamophobia & 14 years of austerity. The far right prey on this discontent & fan the flames of racism. We must be the counter-movement. 👇
"Give my Salam to my beloved".
O muslims, take an example from this old Egyptian fruit seller. He saw the Aid Convoy to Gaza passing by him and started throwing the oranges he had into the convoy. Look closely he's choosing the best ones from amongst the oranges to give. Though it may not amount to any monetary value in our eyes, imagine how weighty it will be in the sight of our Lord.
These are the truthful ones when they read and say the following who actually means it.
"Like the body, if one organ complains, the rest of the body responds with fever and sleepless nights"
The anti-boycott bill is an assault on Palestinian solidarity.
I would have voted against it, but I am at The Hague to support South Africa’s case against Israel.
This is a historic moment for humanity, and a wake-up call for political leaders letting a genocide unfold.
@BasitMahmood91@nadia_cav We quote some of these stats in our new book, The Working Classroom. There’s a lot of us in the teaching profession and academia who care about equity in education and the myth of meritocracy. I’d be happy to send you a copy Basit. These are some of the children I met in Gaza a few years ago. They liked to learn, draw & play.
I have been thinking of these children, clinging to the hope they are still alive.
Do their dreams not matter? Don’t they laugh & cry like other children? Don’t they deserve to live?
"We’re living through one of the great crimes of history. And I firmly believe that you either speak out, you either do something, however small, to try and stop this from happening or you render yourselves complicit in what is a monumental crime." Owen Jones

I start to cry the moment I watch a video for how Gaza was looks like before 7th of October.
Our life then was miserable and full with struggles but at least we have our city and we love it so much
They destroyed everything
The UN's aid chief describes Gaza as the worst humanitarian crisis he's experienced in 50 years.
He makes two key points which should chill you.
1) The official death toll is likely a huge underestimate
2) In these circumstances, far more tend to die of hunger and disease.
Like it or not but what's happening in #Gaza is genocide and the US government enabled it. What will the US government tell those kids whose family's are annihilated by the terror Israeli settler colonialist project installed in Palestine by the West..?
