Black Brilliance West is on today. Congratulations to all the students and staff that have put this amazing Black student focused conference together. @tdsb
It's time to stop seeing #mentalhealth as a problem to solve and start seeing it as a foundation.
Start with small steps and work your way up to bigger things. There is no such thing as "too small." Here are some tips to help you get started 💛💜
#mentalhealthsupport
Students proudly presented their Black Excellence projects in our Schoolwide African Heritage Month Exhibit today. Such great learning for our School Community. @Alisongsv @tdsb
It's #BlackMentalHealthWeek. We must continue to raise awareness about the historical & ongoing harms of anti-Black racism, its #MentalHealth impact on Black communities, & to take action to improve the health & wellness of the Black community. Learn more: https://t.co/40FrRWcUsL
.@fordnation@Sflecce will you properly fund our schools?
The need for MORE mental health supports and educ workers in our schools esp now is painfully clear.
Do not sit idol while #EDU boards are forced to cut desperately needed student supports (staff!) due to ur underfunding.
It’s #BellLetsTalkDay. Let’s keep talking & sharing the many ways our schools are promoting & supporting mental health & well-being by using the hashtag #BellLetsTalk. Be sure to tag us. We have so much to learn from each other.
Today, we mark International Day of Education. Here at the #TDSB, we recognize the importance of inclusive and quality education while providing access to learning opportunities for all.
After completing a workshop on positive school culture, the students at Hilltop Middle School wrote out what they would do to help their school become an even more positive place. Amazing work Hilltop ! @gagliardi_tdsb@TDSB_CYS@kwamelennon
Its Trans Awareness Week and I'm thinking about the ongoing work in K-12 education to challenge transphobia and create welcoming schooling environments. Collectively, I believe we can do this work to support trans and gender diverse students, families and communities.
Talking about identity and microaggressions with our Ss. Student says “Everybody calls me __ but my real name is __. “ Affirming identity is a beautiful thing. Let’s ensure we are calling our Ss by their correct names - names matter. Thnx @TDSB_CYS @tdsb
As my team members and I went to schools this week talking about respecting identity, this maya angelou quote really became the theme! We behave the best way we know how. Once we know better it’s up to us to put in the work to do better ! @frasca_sarah
