Based Rollups are what will solve the ETH L2 economic debate:

-They are 2x orders of magnitude cheaper to run.

-They require being an ETH validator to participate.

-They require staking ETH as preconfirmation commitment.

-They create competitive auctions for MEV, that mean paying for gas.

-They can be interoperable without bridges, meaning their value to Ethereum grows with Metcalfe’s Law.

-They are more incentivized to use ETH as a native currency compared to current L2 models.

-They have cheaper compute than even current L2s, making it easier to drive novel apps.

-Given validators also track ETH state, they can be designed to have crosschain L1/L2 read write and support L1 oracles, balances, reputation and assets natively at runtime.

While I still think a repricing of the long term storage is needed to reflect the value that Ethereum provides to L2 settlement - I’m confident that based rollups drive demand for ETH in an unprecedented way by recapturing the value of ordering and transacting order flow, while still providing rolled up transactions.

We've lowered our @taikoxyz proposer's minimum priority fee to 0.05 gwei to support more Taiko users and transactions. Our proposer will now dynamically adjust the priority fee between 0.05 and 0.09 gwei based on Ethereum gas price and Taiko's pending transactions.
