أكد المتحدث باسم الجيش الباكستاني، الفريق أحمد شريف تشودري، أن بلاده تقف إلى جانب السعودية سياسيا وعسكريا، مشددا على أن التزام إسلام آباد بأمن المملكة (غير مشروط)، وأن باكستان مستعدة للذهاب (إلى أي مدى) للدفاع عنها في مواجهة أي اعتداء.

وأوضح أن هذا الالتزام يشمل حماية المملكة ومكة المكرمة والمدينة المنورة، ويستند إلى روابط تاريخية راسخة بين البلدين وقيادتيهما.

وجاءت التصريحات في ظل تصاعد الهجمات الحوثية بالصواريخ والطائرات المسيرة على السعودية، وبعد أكثر من شهر على توقيع اتفاق مكة للدفاع المشترك بين السعودية وباكستان وتركيا، الذي يعتبر الاعتداء المسلح على أي من الدول الثلاث اعتداء على الجميع.

ولم يكشف المتحدث العسكري عما إذا كانت الرياض قد طلبت قوات أو منظومات دفاعية إضافية من باكستان، كما لم يحسم نطاق الضمانات العسكرية التي يتضمنها الاتفاق.

وفي موازاة الموقف العسكري، أكد تشودري أن باكستان تواصل تحركاتها الدبلوماسية مع الأطراف الإقليمية سعيا إلى احتواء التصعيد والوصول إلى تسوية تفاوضية وسلمية للأزمة الأوسع في المنطقة.

Telephone call between the Prime Minister and the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, this afternoon.

During their warm and cordial conversation, the two leaders discussed the ongoing hostilities in the region.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering and unflinching solidarity and support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the wake of the ongoing attacks, and reiterated Pakistan’s condemnation of the attack at the Al Jubeil oil facility in Saudi Arabia earlier today.

He assured His Royal Highness the Crown Prince that the people and the Government of Pakistan would always stand shoulder to shoulder with their Saudi brothers and sisters, just as the Saudi leadership and people had always supported Pakistan, through thick and thin.

The Prime Minister lauded the wisdom and sagacity of the Saudi leadership in exercising maximum restraint during the ongoing crisis, and stated that Pakistan was working assiduously for the success of the peace efforts, in partnership with other countries. He also apprised the Crown Prince on latest developments in Pakistan’s mediation efforts to de-escalate the Middle East crisis.

The Prime Minister conveyed his warm wishes and respectful regards for The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The Crown Prince appreciated Pakistan’s peace efforts, aimed at restoring peace and stability in the region.
