Today they passed the Senate’s appropriations package without the SAVE Act

- Republicans didn’t include the SAVE Act
- Instead they added funding for DEI, gender mutilation surgeries on children and NGOs

Programs added to the funding bill include

- Funding for facilities like Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems (pediatric gender clinic providing hormones for gender-diverse children).

- ChristianaCare Health Services (late-term abortions, but tied to broader reproductive/gender care criticism)

- Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago (transgender treatments)

- Rady Children’s Hospital (pediatric gender-affirming care, including referrals for surgeries). Conservative amendments (e.g., by Rep. Ralph Norman) sought to strike these as funding “transgender surgeries” or “sex-rejecting hormones for children.”

- DEI programs
- Additional NGO funding
