Virtuals Weekly Episode 28 Recap!

The show was dominated by two main talking points. Vader and the changes to Genesis;

With Vader, @goon_crypto and I felt the Ethos slash was uncalled for but we could see both sides of the situation.

Most were upset at the way it played out, particularly the lack of communication arounf what is coming next.

The instant unlocking of tokens has resulted in people losing trust as most felt it was locked in a contract that couldn't be changed.

> Changes to the Genesis Launchpad tokenomics.

This was more unanimous. There's a clear negative sentiment amongst those in the community with the lack of consideration for participants in the recent changes to the Genesis launchpad.

Short term pain for long term gain is the phrase I keep going back to and those loyal to the protocol can see how the changes will benefit us in the future.

There's a feeling, and it's backed by the data, that staking is now not worth it as points have been watered down way too much. That could provide opportunities for people who still value points!

Some thoughts for fixes;

- Restrictions on tokenomics for teams launching. If the team want us to buy into this long term VC mindset, having teams accessing hundreds of millions of tokens in the first few months is ridiculous.

- Easing of staking and/ or Jeet Jail restrictions to give participants more flexibility while we wait for these high profile projects to come along and the new tokenomics to make sense.

- Communication and community engagement improvements/ investment. The gap between the team and the community is getting wider, not closer.
