There is a cohort trying to make our politics about hard men and violence. Fuck those guys! We desperately need politics of softness, compassion, care and kindness instead. Alongside principled, grounded hard work! More women, more people of colour, more progressive voices! ๐
I hate this place but I can't take this bullshit anymore without saying something. How are these lowlifes finding opportunities to attack people? They seem to "happen upon" people they vehemently disagree with crazy frequency, almost as if they know where they're going to be?
Really sorry and angry to hear this.
@JanetPHorner is brilliant local representative.
The level of hate that is increasingly shown towards the green-left is absolutely vile.
And it is being constantly whipped up by lazy media commentators, and a militant far-right.
Hear ye hear ye, tickets for sale! #ticketfairy
Unfortunately not able to make @SPRINTSmusic at the Button Factory tonight ๐ญ๐ญ Have seen them 4 times before so know how good this gig will be. If you have any sense you'll take these tickets off my hands โฌ46 for two (face value)
@kimischilling She broke her hand last week and explained she was trying to keep it out of contact, hence keeping it up in the air away from the body of an incoming player.

@HugoFitzpatrick I think the rte sound system was definitely a huge issue for a number of tunes. And I agree it's not a typical song structure but that's what makes it stand out from the usual songs. It's super creative and their voice is brilliant
@HugoFitzpatrick Bambie Thug is the real deal. Saw them upstairs in Whelan's at the end of 2022 and they killed it. Incredible stage presence and a top performer. This is the kind of act Eurovision is all about now!
Once again returning to this hellpit to sell a ticket.
ONE standing ticket for CMAT tonight (Saturday) in the Olympia. Face value (โฌ39). Can transfer via TM app. #ticketfairy

@carolynmoore_ie The owner of Liberty Kitchen on that corner appears to have gotten permission from someone at DCC to park his car on the pavement. These kind of exemptions (if it actually is an exemption) cause others to assume it's fine for them to do the same. Should be bollards installed
@collumbo Right that's great in Dublin but again I'm guessing its not true everywhere. My point is that every club that has a boys team should have an equivalent girls team.
Most GAA clubs in the country have girls teams as well as boys teams for most age groups. Can every football club in the country who has boys teams say the same? I'm guessing no, but that's the place we need to get to. Whoever takes on this role has their work cut out for them!
With rapid growth in women's football, the FAI has created a new role for head of women and girl's football to grow participation in the sport for girls at all levels.

@garrethmcdaid I played gaelic for a few years (badly) and would have preferred to play football but couldn't because there was no girls team in my local club. Happily I could play football now in that club, but not every AFC offers that, and that was my point.
@garrethmcdaid I'm aware of who the LGFA are and that they facilitate women's football, but at a club level it's people involved in the local GAA clubs who facilitate training, run teams etc.
@fergalreid Hopefully whoever takes on the role will be given the resources to spread out to football clubs if they need it, but I also think it's a case of reorganising existing resources club by club to prioritise the creation of girls teams where there aren't any.
@fergalreid I'd put that down to the woeful mismanagement of the FAI under certain people in the past two decades. Rugby clubs by and large have a better record than football clubs for providing girls teams to play on, so the IRFU seem to manage pretty ok. Grassroots football is the outlier
