WATCH | Mayor of Bulawayo, @DavidColtart, talks about what he says is widespread corruption and misuse of public resources in Zimbabwe under the current government.
He mentions a wedding where gifts worth about US$20 million were reportedly given, including cash and valuable land. He also raises concerns about expensive fire engines bought from Belarus, inflated road construction contracts, and the alleged Gold Mafia network.

There is a General who died some few years ago. He had $4 million in Mauritius and a mansion in Dubai. He fell sick in Zimbabwe from "Covid". The healthcare system could not save him. The same thing that happened to Makamba's son.
We once calculated the amount of money Mugabe used for his trips to Glen Eagles in Singapore, he could have built a hospital that took care of him, his cabinet and locals but NO, he preferred to use more than $10 million in Singapore.
Ginimbi was burnt in his expensive car for hours with no Fire Brigade in sight.
They flaunt their ill-gotten riches and smack on our faces but they fail to realize is that the basics that everyone needs are absent. When they need them, sometimes that money won't save them.
A functional healthcare system is good for everyone. We have to get rid of Mnangagwa and his cabal!!!!
Last year a relative fell ill in Zimbabwe. They needed multiple procedures and transfusion. On paper they would say blood is free, so you take them to the public hospital and you are told there is no blood. You take them to a private hospital and NBTS would have the blood but at $250/pint.
All in all it cost us close to $25000. You buy everything, like sometimes you have to buy things that should be available in a normal hospital. I posted a lot about the cost of blood & the collapse of the healthcare system in Zimbabwe. The pple who defended the collapse are pple I could literally see that if ever they fell sick, they would simply die.
Over the past year, I have received numerous DMs from pple who have gone through the frustrations and pain of the collapsed system. Unfortunately, when the emergency happens you are alone. You have no one to turn to. And most just die.
The people who have destroyed our country were this weekend gathered in one congregation of flaunting their ill-gotten wealth straight in your face.
It does not matter you are ZANU or not. As long as you are not part of that mafia club, when misfortune hits you, you will be alone & you will die!
This is why I keep saying, we can argue about policy but we should never argue about the basic obligations of government. As long as the basics are not there, it means there is a failure in governance.
We have to get rid of Mnangagwa and his cabal!
Harare covers approximately 982.3 square kilometres, which is about 98,230 hectares.
Someone nonchalantly gets 33 hectares of prime land, a third of Harare as wedding present and you think it's normal?
If you're not mad, you aren't paying attention!
Zororo Makamba akafa neCOVID not because anga asina mari. What happens when a major satellite company known for taking pictures of Earth every single day hits pause on the Middle East?
Al Jazeera’s @N_Linhhh explains what Planet Labs PBC's delay of its satellite imagery means during an active war.
@Shadaya_Knight If we are led by criminals who want to die in power and steal from the poor and have a need to enrich themselves and destroy thriving industries then you get nonsense. Pretty simple
“Holocaust researcher, when you study Auschwitz & you study the SS & the German Nazis, what they did to Jewish people & you study it & then you see we have on our screens this is what they do to Palestinians to torture them...”
I am a Zimbabwean and I get him. Those of us who still care about Zimbabwe do so not because it offers us anything, it's just that we desire to change what is there so that the future generations have a better shot at life than us.
A lot of pple have moved on and have given up on the country. Remember that analogy of the brain and asshole. Sometimes the asshole wins not because of any merit but becaue it stinks things for everybody. The assholes have been winning in Zimbabwe!
This is Moses Langa, the ZANUPF Provincial Youth League chairman for Matabeleland South, addressing ZANUPF supporters after invading Vubachikwe Gold Mine in Gwanda.
The mine is owned by a British company and a Canadian investor. These are some of the things that he says in this video, speaking in Ndebele.
“So us as youths, we are invading.
We will take over and organise ourselves.
So let’s work, not fight and use weapons against eachother, we earn from our sweat, no one should benefit where they don’t work.
As you see me standing here in front of you, i have talked to the political elders/leaders and i have told them that this is what I am going to do in the province that i lead as the ZANU PF chairman.
So today as the youths of Gwanda, i hope most of you are from here, we have lots of unemployed dependants but you guys are now working and can earn and make a living.
There are ways we are going to admit others who want to come here and work in the pits, where you guys mine, whether its here or by the mountain, lets be organised all i want is order if you are working in groups of 20 let it be noted and also the write down, the group which you belong to, the leader and from where to where you will be digging, so that you can easily distinguish group A and B.
We have to be organised, for whoever comes to check on the progress, that we as youth have achieved.
There are methods we are using so that we permanently take over this place, and we own it. We will take over, work together and own it as Gwanda people.”
Although Moses Langa initially tried to deny on Saturday that he was involved in this invasion, the local community that filmed what he was saying has now released this video.
This is yet another example of how difficult it is to do business in Zimbabwe for both local and foreign investors because there is no rule of law.
The police attempted to get to the mine and were pushed back by ZANUPF thugs, which means that these invaders, these political thugs, are above the law and are protected by political heavyweights as Langa claimed.
And when we say this, they say we are lying. For all those who were in doubt, here is your evidence.
You cannot expect foreign direct investment to come to a country where someone can just lose their assets and their investment just like that, and the police, which are supposed to enforce the law, are powerless to do anything about it.
This is no longer conjecture. The evidence is there. These people are on the mine today looting while the matter is heading to court, with the owners hoping that they can get a spoliation order. But even that is not guaranteed because the judiciary in Zimbabwe is also compromised.
That is why a lot of foreign investors are staying away from this country. It is not because of sanctions, as the government tries to claim. It is because of the behaviour of the government and the ruling party, where they can simply come and grab your assets and you lose everything.
This mine is owned by a British company and a Canadian investor. They are supposed to be ambassadors for Zimbabwe, helping to attract other investors to our country. But how can they be goodwill investment ambassadors of a country that allows such lawlessness and takes away their assets?
Never mind the waters, just look at the bridge and the materials used to construct the structure. And this is happening in u rural district councils where ZANU-PF hold communities at near [email protected] one audits nor checks the tender systems in these areas. Corruption ranks 1
🔸Good day Honourable Minister @MhonaFelix,
Why must your engineers wait for a citizen to call you on a hotline? Are they blind? Everywhere one turns, there’s a world map of potholes.
Please take your obligations under the Roads Act seriously.
We need new leaders.🇿🇼
