Students in year 9 took a visit to Leeds City College as part of their empower trip today. A highlight was being able to control a robot that had been made on campus. 🤖

Brilliant to see the career options available in design and technology! 👏🏼

Y7 working hard in food technology this morning looking at different diets, including those followed for medical, religious or personal ethics reasons.

Fantastic prior knowledge on ethics and morality crossing over from @TAL_Humanities led to great questions and discussion!

This week, year 8’s have been getting technical with CAD software @Onshape to design their own desklamp. 🖥️

Using both guided and independant practice, they were able to problem solve and design the base of their lamp successfully in 3D ✅

Beautiful work by year 9 on their ‘design for life’ unit. Using the iterative design process to design a final product to aid a member of our local community to improve their quality of life. #futuredesigners ✏️
