Due to personal commitments including surgical exams, I will sadly not be seeking re-election onto the UKRDC.
I've dedicated my life to the BMA over the past two years and unfortunately over the next year I won't have the capacity to do the role justice. 1/6
It's your LAST CHANCE to represent your colleagues by standing for election to your local RJDC. #VoteRJDC

GMB negotiating team are ready to meet BMA management negotiators but a fundamentally different approach to that taken by the CEO and Board to date is needed.
Additional investment in the offer to BMA staff is required.
There MUST be an end to below inflation pay awards.
2.
Realistic and reasonable about what the country can afford?!😂
You’re paying assistants to doctors more than you’re pay doctors;
Day one pay in central London:
🔸Newly qualified Doctor:
£20.36 / hour
🔹Newly qualified Physician’s Assistant:
£28.86 / hour
That’s 41.75% more.
Has the government forgotten its job?
It’s meant to provide patients with specialists.
Pulling training posts for doctors is a massive own goal from a government that claims it wants to cut waiting lists.
How do you reduce waiting lists without specialists?

This is very good news for Scotland. I am grateful to everyone involved in the discussions. This ensures that the progress we are making in NHS recovery can be maintained.
@AliJaneMoore Resident doctor pay is already higher in Scotland (& Wales) than in England, and this deal, which is well deserved, will increase the gap further. See charts.
@wesstreeting has no leg to stand on. If he doesn't want to match Ireland or Australia, what about the devolved nations?
Good news for doctors, patients and the NHS in Scotland.
Spot the difference 🏴🏴.
Strikes can and should be avoided, but they require politicians to negotiate seriously and in good faith, unlike @wesstreeting.
