Our first Semester Chapel was a powerful and inspiring time of worship, reflection and encouragement, with a beautiful message from our Vice Chancellor, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐁𝐲𝐚𝐦𝐮𝐤𝐚𝐦𝐚, based on 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐬 𝟑:𝟓,“Trust in the Lord with all your heart” We were also honoured to welcome 𝐁𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐮𝐚 𝐋𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞, former General Overseer of the National Fellowship of Born Again Pentecostal Churches of Uganda, who visited our campus and took time to experience what AfRU is all about.

𝐀𝐬 𝐰𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨:
Trust God with our journey. We may not know what lies ahead, but we know the One who knows the future. You don't need to know everything; you need to trust the One who does.

1.Start well and stay focused. Your first year is the foundation for your journey. Build good habits of prayer, study and discipline. Small decisions become habits, habits shape character, and character shapes your identity.

2.Choose your friends wisely. Surround yourself with people who support your growth, strengthen your faith and help you become the person God has called you to be.

3.Don't be afraid to fail. Failure can be part of the learning process. Keep going, keep growing and keep trusting God.

Discover why God brought you to AfRU. Your time at university is more than earning a degree. Discover your purpose and make your journey count.

4.Keep God at the center. In everything you do, remember that God has a plan for your life. “For I know the plans I have for you." Jeremiah 29:11.

As we step into this new semester, start well, stay focused, choose wisely and trust God with your journey.
