I was born in the Middle East. I know how terrorists think because I grew up around the lies that create them. Many generations were indoctrinated to believe Jews are the enemy and that they “occupied Palestinian land,” while the truth was deliberately hidden. Jews have lived on that land for thousands of years. There was never a sovereign Palestinian state, no borders, no president, no government, never. Yes, innocent Palestinians deserve peace, but peace is impossible until they openly disown the Muslim Brotherhood, PLO and Hamas and all other groups.

Whether people like it, love it, agree or disagree, reality doesn’t change: Terrorists do not understand negotiations, ceasefires, or concessions. They see them as weakness. Force and uncompromising deterrence are the only language they understand. From everything I’ve seen and lived through, leaders who confront terrorism head-on are the ones who actually break it, not those who excuse it, fund it, or try to “dialogue” with it.

It’s time for every patriot and every peace-loving person to say this without fear: we stand with Jews, we stand with the innocent, and if you attack Jews for being Jewish, you have declared war on all of us. Silence is complicity. Strength is what stops terrorists.

2. Students at @BrownUniversity were murdered in a class being taught by Rachel Friedberg, a Jewish professor who leads the school's Judaic Studies program.

3. A Jewish professor of nuclear physics at M.I.T. was murdered in his home today.

4. Orthodox Jews in New York were violently assaulted on the subway.

5. Violent Palestinian protestors disrupted a peaceful Hanukkah celebration in Amsterdam. Dozens were arrested after police had to physically surround families celebrating the holiday to protect them.

6. A Jewish family in California had their home hit by gunfire because they had Hanukkah decorations up. One of the criminals shouted, "Free Palestine."

7. An Islamic terrorist attack has been foiled in Poland at a Christmas market.

8. An Islamic terrorist attack has been foiled in Germany at a Christmas market.

9. A Palestinian terrorist attack was foiled in California.

10. France has cancelled its NYE celebrations because of the terrorist threat level.

11. Canada's Integrated Terrorism Assessment Centre has said that a terrorist attack in Canada is now "a realistic possibility."

I've been studying terrorism for 20 years, and I've never seen things this bad. The West is under attack – full stop. The question now is, what the hell are we going to do about it?

She was just a child…
scared, bruised, alone.
Her name was Czesława Kwoka.

She didn’t speak the language of the guards. She had just lost her mother. And soon, she would lose her life.

In the infamous Auschwitz extermination camp, Czesława became one of over 250,000 children and teens murdered by the Nazis. She was 14 years old.

Before she died, a fellow prisoner, photographer Wilhelm Brasse, was ordered to take her identification photo. He later recalled the moment: how an SS officer had struck her across the face just before, leaving a visible bruise on her lip. Czesława didn’t understand what was happening. She was trembling. Brasse remembered being haunted by her eyes.

On February 18, 1943, her life ended with a phenol injection straight to the heart.

For decades, the image remained black and white like the millions of stories that never got told. But years later, Brazilian artist and colorizer Marina Amaral saw Czesława’s photo in the Oświęcim Memorial archives. Moved by her expression, she brought the picture to life in color, restoring not just a face, but a sense of humanity.

This is not just a photo. It’s a window. Into the fear. The cruelty. The innocence stolen. And a reminder: behind every statistic, there was a name, a voice, a story. Czesława’s.

I like to believe that something like the Holocaust could never happen again. That humanity had learned something. That the world would never again tolerate silence in the face of hate. But history doesn’t always return in the same form. Sometimes it comes quietly—through rationalizations, through slogans, through selective outrage.

Members of my own family were murdered in the Holocaust. A few survived—just enough for me to be here. So when I watched what happened on October 7, I couldn’t look away. I didn’t have the option of detachment. I knew too much of what happens when the world decides certain people are less worthy of grief.

And yet, after the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, what followed wasn’t unity or resolve. It was doubt. Deflection. Even celebration. As hostages remained in captivity—raped, beaten, paraded—there were protests not to demand their release, but to justify their capture. Somehow, the victims were asked to explain themselves.

I’ve heard the arguments. I’ve read the statements. But nothing can justify the inhumane treatment of civilians, of children, of the elderly, of the innocent. Nothing can excuse holding people in darkness while the world debates context. And nothing can make me forget the lessons passed down by survivors who knew exactly what silence costs.

Czesława didn’t get statements. She didn’t get nuance. She was a child caught in something monstrous. Her story nearly disappeared until someone looked into her eyes and chose not to look away.

So we should remember her—not just to mourn the past, but to recognize the signs in the present. To understand that cruelty evolves, but its intent is always the same: to dehumanize, to divide, to erase. And it thrives when good people hesitate.

Today, I am passing her story forward not just for her, but for those still waiting to be seen.
