During the last weeks, I travelled to Brazil, where I met professor Augusto Garcia from the Statistical Genetics Lab at Departamento de Genética ESALQ/USP, where I completed my master's.

Feeling excited for what's ahead. 💚

This semester challenged, inspired, and reminded me why I love science. It is not only about what I have been learning, but also the people I met along the way, who inspire me to continue. 🩷

Mark Longo has just revealed that the New York Department of Environmental Conservation euthanized his cherished pet squirrel, Peanut. This innocent creature was taken from him, where he had lovingly raised it since it was a baby, after its mother got hit by a car.

Mark used the squirrel’s viral popularity to raise funds for animal sanctuaries.

Imagine, without any legal basis like a search warrant, the government barged into his home, stole Peanut, and in just 48 hours, ended the life of this harmless, beloved pet.

@vanessa_bs @rizbicki @AgenciaFAPESP @govbr Ah entendi. Normalmente dura 48 meses, mas acho que depende do projeto que o pesquisador entra, mas também dá pra prorrogar.
