I really don't get the sense that any modern writer in Hollywood actually lived through or remembers the 1990s.

Completely bizarre to have lived through it and to watch people tell me now that people were vastly more racist in the 90s and that it was "closer to Jim Crow", as I was told yesterday by a literal 21 year old.

Just a few of the mistakes @RealCandaceO made in the debate about the #TylerRobinson case:
1/ She didn't know most of the evidence admitted at the hearing would be admitted at trial;
2/ She didn't know Robinson is also charged with murder, not just aggravated murder;
3/ She didn't know the difference b/t DNA and fingerprints;
4/ She didn't know that "degraded" DNA has nothing to do w/ the timing of the DNA's presence on the gun;
5/ She didn't know that dirt being inside the rifle does not prove anything about when the rifle was used;
6/ She didn't know Tyler confessed to being the person on the surveillance footage;
7/ She didn't know Twiggs identified Tyler as the person on the surveillance footage;
8/ She didn't know Twiggs had every incentive to testify truthfully due to his use immunity agreement;
9/ She didn't know defense lawyers have every incentive to advance her theories at the preliminary hearing, but chose not to b/c they know her theories are not backed up by evidence;
10/ She didn't know the difference between speculation and reliable hearsay under Utah rules.

The more nonsensical and obviously absurd a belief is, the more people who hold it (or pretend to) will resist recanting. The potential for humiliation rises in direct proportion to the ridiculousness of what they've publicly swallowed. They see no choice but to double down.
