there’s some research I read years ago that showed how losing 50lbs on average obese women has the same societal and financial impact as obtaining a masters degree. It’s probably skewed now in 2026 but I’m not surprised by this at all
I've found people get very combative when you say you're treated differently when fat vs. thin. People just don't want to believe that fat people, esp fat women, are treated poorly by society. Losing weight didn't solve all my problems but it did make my life way better.
Your mothers’ and grandmothers’ lives do not revolve around your existence. They have experiences from before you existed that they wouldn’t trade for an extra ten years with you, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Go have your own diva
I hate to be insensitive but I think the conversation falls short w skinny shaming bc it’s so surface, like nobody thinks ur stupid/lazy because ur skinny, ur not missing job opportunities for being skinny. You’re not being misdiagnosed at the doctors for being skinny. Tighten up
