It's normal to be feeling some stress and anxiety right now.
It's all about perspective and control.
Controlled breathing can help regain perspective, calm the mind, & build inner strength. The opportunities are there if we allow them.

“Allowing those convicted of these crimes to be released early diminishes accountability and devalues the sacrifices made by courageous law enforcement officers and their families.”

Kudos to these cops, firefighters, and fellow first responders on lighting up the night for their young fans at Golisano Children's Hospital in Rochester, NY. The annual Good Night Lights brings smiles to the faces of so many.
Thank you ex-NYPD hostage negotiatior @Columbia research psychologist Jeff Thompson for listing the #1 skill to have: “empathy, understanding somebody's perspective, what are they thinking, what are they feeling, that helps you understand, why are they doing what they're doing”.
Good luck to @NYPDnews & @FDNY and a special thanks to @afspnational for working with both teams to #StopSuicide.
Earlier in the week both teams attended an AFSP sponsored workshop in partnership with @ColumbiaPsych.
Today kicks off #SuicidePreventionMonth. 💜

At last! My Churchill Fellowship report into wellbeing and resilience in law enforcement has been published 🥳 and can be accessed here: https://t.co/Uqx0eCePqq @ChurchillFship@PoliceScotland
Just as I predicted in my earlier ‘Kudos’ tweet congratulating the NYPD on this initiative, the progressive left woke anti-cop forces, led by the ACLU are attacking this technology and that of ShotSpotter with their bogus and unfounded racial justice discrimination and disparity claims. What they never acknowledge is the racial disparity in the number of victims and perpetrators. Compliments to the NYPD on their support of both technologies that don't discriminate and save lives in high crime neighborhoods. https://t.co/iBzRobMvIt
The NYPD is unafraid to say it. We are proud to be American.
We are proud to protect New York City and uphold our nation’s sacred principles of freedom, justice and democracy. It’s what defines the American spirit.
We will always defend everyone’s right to free speech while ensuring public safety in the greatest city in the world. 🇺🇸

Tonight this city lost a hero, a wife lost her husband, and a young child lost their father.
We struggle to find the words to express the tragedy of losing one of our own. The work that Police Officer Jonathan Diller did each day to make this city a safer place will NEVER be forgotten.
Our prayers are with his family, loved ones, and brothers and sisters in blue.
Make no mistake about it, your cops are doing their job! Now it’s up to the rest of the criminal justice system to do theirs.
On Monday, Transit cops arrested a 38-year-old career criminal after he forcibly robbed a straphanger of his cellphone in Manhattan. He was released without bail.
Today, just 4 days later, this same perp was arrested AGAIN by Transit cops — this time for attempting to rob another subway rider at knifepoint in Manhattan.
New Yorkers deserve better.
It’s #BellLetsTalk day. As we focus today on mental health, we invite you to read this article from our archives published last year by @Jefftphd: https://t.co/vHJYNGA49p
Today, we want to challenge you to take 2 minutes and 30 seconds out of your day to stop and watch.
Mental Health Support for Police Officers https://t.co/zCEnWALP1i via @YouTube
Great job by our officers. Of course the video doesn’t show the individual jumping the turnstile right in front of the officers and refusing multiple requests for identification. This type of lawlessness is exactly what New Yorkers are tired of in our transit system.
I gave a veteran police officer on patrol a chance to reflect on resilience in the ordinary.
They talked about a buttercup. Really.
