PRINCIPLE 40
Becoming the System
…In the process of building, the builder is also built
The clash of cultures that emerges in the effort to build systems is one of humanity’s oldest struggles. It is a tangle of race, tribe, region, and geography—of belief systems and social cycles, of individuality shaped by environment and experience. It is the formation of truth, of character, of habit. It is the story of the human attempt to create meaning amid chaos—the suffering, the striving, the pain of enterprise, and the relentless challenge of building from nothing, often among those who have known only nothingness. It is, indeed, a difficult pilgrimage.
To build from nothing is a calling we all encounter in some form. The task of building enterprises in developing economies is not merely economic—it is existential. It demands not only labour and intellect but also vision transcribed into permanence, written in the book of purpose. It is easy, perhaps, to write the vision, to dramatise it with diagrams and flowcharts, to codify it into Standard Operating Procedures and Manuals. It is even easier to assemble the people. Yet, the true work lies beyond the scripts—it is in cultivating adaptation, in communicating vision and objectives in ways that outlive words. For even when the plan is clear, the path is often obscure; the ease of design becomes the difficulty of discipline.
Here, in this crucible of growth, we find ourselves crawling, walking, and running all at once. We must learn every stage of progress simultaneously—to crawl towards understanding, to walk in practice, and to run with endurance. This is the rhythm of enterprises in developing worlds: a symphony of struggle and creation, where every forward step is both survival and revelation.PSJ
Principle 20: Live Life as Privilege, Not Advantage
…to live as a privilege is to turn greatness into stewardship
Live each day deliberately, with awareness and gratitude. Pause often—examine, reflect, and realign. For though you owe your existence partly to yourself, you also owe something to others: to your community, your city, your nation, and ultimately to the world. And as much as you feel the world owes you, the greater truth is that life is a constant exchange of giving and receiving.
It is wiser, then, to approach every opportunity not as an advantage to exploit, but as a privilege to honour. To view life as an advantage breeds pride, and pride makes the path heavier. But to see life as a privilege lightens the burden: your service becomes a gift, your talent becomes a stewardship, and your trade becomes a calling.
Yes, you are unique. Yes, you are blessed. Yes, you have worked for what you possess, and your labour deserves respect and honour. Yet, if you rest only in what you think you deserve, you will shrink the horizon of your soul. But if you live by the ethos of privilege, humility will accompany you, and generosity will flow through you.
To live as though life is a privilege is to remain grounded, grateful, and giving. It is to recognise that even your greatness is not for self-exaltation, but for service. And in this recognition lies the true ease of living.
Humility begins where privilege is recognised..PSJ
Principle 16: The Independent Force of Human Will
In the paradox of freedom lies the greatness and the tragedy of man
The human being stands apart from all other creatures by virtue of an independent force of will. Unlike instinct-driven existence, man is endowed with a faculty of choice that transcends mere survival. Rooted in the Adamic nature, this will represents both the dignity and the danger of humanity: the dignity, in that man is free to shape destiny and participate in divine purpose; the danger, in that he may also deviate into self-will and rebellion. The uniqueness of this gift makes man not merely another species among many, but a moral and spiritual agent—capable of aligning with eternal truth or resisting it in the assertion of autonomy. It is the paradox of freedom: a gift that can elevate man towards nobility or plunge him into alienation. Thus, the independent force of will is both man’s crown and his cross: the source of his greatness and the origin of his fall.

Dear Christian,
If you’ve ever felt tired, frustrated, angry at God during the waiting season and even doubted him. Let me show you what may have interrupted your waiting without you knowing it through the lenses of the Law, the Prophet and Jesus himself.
🪡
I just had the most insane airport experience that I’m still trying to wrap my head around.
I had a layover in Brussels flying from London to Cotonou. It was for 3 hrs, so I took my time to eat and window-shop till it was almost time to board.
Then I realised I made a mistake…
Let’s pray,
Heavenly Father,
On this 23rd day, I pause to acknowledge the power of Your perfect timing. Lord, I recognize that the number 23 symbolizes divine provision and direction in the valley. As Psalm 23 declares, “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want,” I call upon You to shepherd me today. On this 23rd day, Lord, if there are areas in my life that need to be pruned, I invite You to do so, even if it is uncomfortable. Remove anything that is hindering my growth or drawing me away from You. Lord, let this 23rd day be a day of breakthroughs and miracles. Open doors that no one can shut. Bring healing to my body, peace to my mind, and joy to my spirit. Let Your light shine in every corner of my life, and let Your name be glorified through me. Pray for a double portion of grace and mercy on this day. Cover me with Your anointing, and let Your favor follow me wherever I go. Let me walk in boldness, knowing that I am a child of the Most High God, redeemed and chosen for such a time as this. Amen.
I won’t use fancy words to convince you to attend this event if you’re a #cybersecurity beginner.
But here’s what I will say: everyone who shows up will walk away sharper, more informed, and better prepared. Expect undiluted truths, actionable insights, and eye-opening blind spots revealed….As always 😉
