@ronmortgageguy While everyone points to social issues in western society, many of which have some validity, it will be the never ending debt that will sink us. Many of these social issues are made worse as the cost born by debt continually lowers our standard of living.

@ronmortgageguy Just sold my house in the Vancouver market so we could downsize. Going to rent for a while and wait to see where my adult kids settle down before I buy again. Feels like I got lucky with the state of the market.

@JohnLeePettim13 @jkenney I'm fairly sure the tariffs apply since it's country of origin. The ownership of the mines doesn't change this fact. Canada is the country of origin for that potash and so tariffs would apply.

@cafreeland I work as a firefighter and am a typical blue collar worker. I don't see a dime of the carbon tax rebate. Neither do most nurses, police officers or red seal tradesmen to name a few others. You are full of lies!

@elenoresturko It's right in the workers compensation act that we always have the right to refuse unsafe work. Sounds like nurses need to start to use this more often if the administration won't protect their right to a safe work environment

@guyfelicella I totally support safe supply and harm reduction in the right context. I go to so many people for ODs and the system does nothing beyond making sure they don't die. Programs like the Portugal model have increasing levels of intervention yet we cherry pick and say we know better

@guyfelicella @MrAndyNgo I would have expected someone like yourself who once struggled with addiction to be more concerned with the state of this facility and its conditions than the semantics around its funding & title. This shelter most likely receives funding and needs to be held to a hire standard

The government does nothing about it, doesn't regulate or enforce any standards with the agencies who receive the funding. It's absolutely heart wrenching to see people living in these conditions in Canada

@kmmoreland @hardlynormal @kevinvdahlgren 2. Vancouver BC. The one here on Hastings is not nearly as clean as those videos but does at least have trained staff. There are also numerous unofficial "safe" injection sites in the area all condoned and encouraged by the government.
