Brother if you stop exporting product, you don’t have to import and refine as much crude domestically. Even if we had to backfill 3mmbo/d, it would take a year or less of picking up rigs.

It’s not imported purely for demand shortfall, it’s imported for blending sour with sweet crude for a more efficient product.

this isn’t a “flip the breaker” fix. If it arced, that oil has to cool ~45min before anyone opens the tank. Then they need a replacement unit hauled in (stadiums don’t keep spares onsite), full rigging/reconnect (~2hrs), staged re-energizing to test each circuit, plus safety sign-off. 6 hours, easy.
